In my head we can play
We can waste the world away
We are fading from the day we awake

I heard a song the other morning
Said there would be no tomorrow
But while we hold each other here I don't care

Is it the touch of her cheek
Or the curl of her hair
Or the smile like a window looked out from a long time ago?
Our city in sheets and a sun that has faded from amber to sand
Now I'm ready to start again

The nights we awake
And the times we pretend and the the city's our temple
Released us a long time ago

In my bed we can play
We can foil and we can fake
We are fading from the day we awake
